Nathan (Nate) Wilda is a young man who is committed to see lives changed through the life of Jesus Christ, and to see people come together once again in His name to move in love and power as His body the church. A Danbury native, Nate grew up within the Christian community of Connecticut, and he has a great desire to see his home state reached with the good news of Jesus.
Starting at the age of 19, Nate felt a call in his heart to follow the life of Jesus in serving others through ministry work, and since that time he has worked extensively with the youth and young adult population. In addition to his heart for reaching adolescents, Nate has a passion to see men (young and old) come to have a real, and transformative relationship with God as a Father, so they can begin to stand as true examples of Christ in love and strength in their families and communities.
Nate earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Western Connecticut State in 2002, at which time he also received national and state recognition for his academic achievements. He continued his education at Rhema Bible College, graduating with a diploma in ministry studies in 2004. Recently, Nate returned to school once again, this time pursuing his teaching certification in Technology Education at Central Connecticut State.
Prior to his teaching and coaching career, Nate worked extensively in Danbury with Young Life, an international youth ministry, where he served for over 5 years as a director for their local high school and college outreaches in the city. Nate is also a licensed minister with ‘Torch Ministries’, and serves on the staff team at Connections Church in Newtown, CT.
In his spare time, Nate loves playing, coaching, watching, and even doing some broadcasting for a variety of sports. Along with many local sports high school and college sports teams, the Oklahoma State Cowboys football team, and the New York Mets are his long time favorites. He is also a singer, novice song-writer, and musician; having lead music at local churches, weddings, and for many other events throughout the country.
Nate is the son of the late David Wilda who was a great pillar in the Danbury community as a local sports hero, and more so as a man of faith. Much of Nate’s life in ministry service has been influenced by his fathers life, and his dad’s battle with Multiple Sclerosis. The lessons he learned from his father and mother as they faced and overcame countless challenges in their lives through their faith in Jesus Christ, and applying the Bible daily in their lives, made a profound impact in Nate’s life. It is these experiences, as well as his personal journey in learning to follow Christ in the midst, that have shaped and led Nate to share the story of God’s faithfulness throughout his life. Nate hopes that it may help others to know Christ personally, and to not give up in life’s toughest of times; a message his father always shared with people he encountered. It is Nate’s sincere desire to help others know the great love of Christ and to live an overcoming life until we see Jesus one day face-to-face!
